How Are Porcelain Veneers Placed?
The porcelain veneer process usually requires two visits to our Parkside Dental office. The procedure is simple and virtually pain-free thanks to safe, reliable anesthetics. At your first appointment, our team at Parkside Dental will prepare your teeth by buffing and shaping the surface. This creates room for the veneer to rest in line with your natural teeth. A mold of your teeth will be made and a matching shade (color) is then chosen by you and your dentist.
During your second visit, our team will thoroughly clean your teeth to ensure a durable bond. Bonding cement is then placed between the tooth and veneer and a special light is used to harden and set the bond.
You’ll receive detailed care instructions for maintaining your dental veneers. As with most dental restorations, veneers are not completely permanent and may someday need to be replaced. However, they’re very durable and will give you a beautiful smile that lasts for years to come. By brushing and flossing daily and scheduling regular dental checkups, you can support a long lifespan for your new veneers.
